The Mazda MX-5 celebration at Goodwood 2016
Mazda came to the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed to celebrate the multi-award-winning Mazda MX-5 to the sounds of live music from its ‘Raise the Roof’ outdoor music event, all themed to the spirit and style of the world’s best-selling sports car, the MX-5.
On show in this UK leg of its world tour was the one millionth Mazda MX-5, which was produced in Japan on 22nd April and Mazda owners had the unique opportunity to sign this historic car. Taking pride of place on the Mazda stand and making its European debut was the all-new Mazda MX-5 RF with its beautiful smooth contours, featuring a retractable hard top which can be opened in 12 seconds at speeds of up to 6mph and resplendent in its Machine Grey finish. In addition, two MX-5 concept cars were on display, the MX-5 Spyder with its eye-catching 17” Yokohama ADVAN Racing RS II wheels and the MX-5 Speedster with its unique deflector, whilst visitors also had the opportunity to watch the MX-5 take part in the legendary Goodwood hillclimb. The superb MX-5 fest was completed with the presence of the Mazda MX-5 Icon, a new special edition making its debut and showing off its stunning Soul Red Metallic exterior highlights.
