What is Motability? The Motability Scheme was created to ensure drivers with a disability – and their families or carers - could keep their independence. Through the lease of a brand new vehicle, which can be specially adapted for varying requirements, Motability customers can enjoy greater mobility. Simply exchange part or all of your government-funded mobility allowance for a car of your choice. Insurance, maintenance, and breakdown cover are all included in the price.
Am I Applicable? If you’re in receipt of one of the following allowances, you could be eligible for the Scheme. You must have at least 12 months’ award length on your allowance.
• Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
• Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA)
• War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
• Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)
• Higher Rate Mobility Component of Child Disability Payment
