The looks that take the Optima Sportswagon into the future

With its new front bumper and the tiger-nose grille with its unique bright chrome finish, the Optima Sportswagon stands out. This is a car that proves that lighting isn’t just for helping you look, but it’s for looking at too, with its newly designed headlights and fog lights, as well as brand new LED tail lights. There’s a range of exterior colours to choose from, including the new Runway Red finish. Your 2018 Kia Optima Sportswagon sits on a superb choice of new alloy wheel designs too.

New Kia Optima Sportswagon Interior

Liking the Optima Sportswagon on the inside

Look out in comfort from the black cloth upholstery of the Optima Sportswagon Grade 2 or choose the Grade 3 for its black cloth with faux leather. Go for the top of the range GT-Line S and enjoy the sporty black leather upholstery with red stitching. The steering wheel comes with a brilliant new design and there’s also a new ambient lighting feature to bathe the dashboard and the doors in your choice of six colours. The centre console features a satin-chrome trim that extends all the way across the dashboard.

Reduced weight, reduced emissions – the 2018 Optima Sportswagon is still more fun to drive

Bringing the advantages of diesel to the Optima Sportswagon is the all-new ‘U3’ 1.6-litre CRDi engine, with a choice of transmissions: the 6-speed manual ISG or the 7-speed DCT ISG. Thanks to active emissions control technology, this diesel engine easily meets the requirements of the new Euro 6d TEMP emissions standard, meaning CO2, particulates and NOx are all reduced.

With 134bhp and 320Nm of torque, depending on your model choice, 0-60 is easily achievable in 10.8 seconds, going up to a top speed of 121mph. What’s more, the Optima Sportswagon offers excellent fuel efficiency of 61.4mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 121g/km.

Whichever engine you choose, it’s down to you how you want your Optima to feel, just by setting the drive mode selector. The mode selector offers three modes: Eco, Comfort and Sport to enable your preference for economy or acceleration. The Smart mode works with you to set the best options automatically, based on your preferences and current conditions. The ambient lighting feature has a pre-set colour for each driving mode from green for Eco mode to red for Sport mode.

Sporty new Kia Optima Sportswagon GT-Line S

Making the Optima Sportswagon even more exciting to look at and to drive is the GT-Line S version. This sporty-looking estate car comes with new LED fog lamps and 18” aluminium alloy wheels. The Optima Sportswagon GT-Line S also has new twin exhausts. Inside, the ventilated front seats, the red-stitched leather, D-shaped steering wheel, alloy pedals and stainless-steel door scuff plates mark out the Optima Sportswagon GT-Line S as something special, whilst the heated outer rear seats and rear door window blinds bring extra touches of comfort to your passengers.

Optima Sportswagon: prioritising safety

Kia Advanced Driver Assistance Systems make the new Optima Sportswagon one of the safest cars in its class, thanks to the intelligent active safety systems available. The Driver Attention Warning system sounds a warning and activates a display, if it senses that the driver is no longer paying attention. Forward Collision-avoidance Assist with pedestrian recognition, Lane Keeping Assist, High Beam Assist and full LED headlamps with Dynamic Bending Light are all available to help make every journey that much safer and easier.
