New-look Picanto

The Kia Picanto is already one of our best-selling models. Our customers love its eye-catching style, class-leading practicality and fun-to-drive performance. The new 2020 Picanto line-up builds on that success, featuring a range of bold design updates. Also, you’ll find there are now eight vibrant paint colours to choose from.

On the outside of the GT-Line and X-Line, you’ll notice the restyled LED headlights, the four-bulb LED daytime running lights and the new rear lighting signature. These models also feature a revised “Tiger Nose” radiator grille with new side highlights. There are new bumpers, back and front, too.

Picanto GT-Line includes jewel-like fog lamps and body-coloured bumpers with black highlights and a larger air intake. These design upgrades mirror the looks of models across the Kia GT family. The SUV-inspired X-Line model reinforces its rugged looks with new protective skid plates and metal-effect trim.

Inside the 2020 Picanto, navigation and infotainment now benefit from a bigger, eight-inch ‘floating’ touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You can pair two devices at the same time – one via Bluetooth and one through a USB port. The Picanto is also more customisable than ever. Choose cloth or faux-leather seat upholstery, featuring contrasting seat stitching, seat bolsters and dashboard trim. Interior colour packs mean you can choose your style from four colour combinations with distinctive lime, orange, red and green highlights.

The new Picanto 2020 now features the latest ‘Smartstream’ petrol engines with new engine management, fuel injection and variable valve timing systems. The result is maximum efficiency and lower CO2 emissions, as well as improved driving performance. There’s a choice of two power units – the 66bhp 1.0-litre DPi (Dual-Port fuel injection) engine and the 99bhp 1.0-litre T-GDi (Turbocharged Gasoline Direct injection) engine. Both engines come with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard. From the ‘2’ trim level, you can choose Kia’s new five-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). This new system combines the convenience of an automatic without sacrificing fuel efficiency.

Upgraded Picanto driver assistance

The upgraded 2020 Picanto now comes with a host of connectivity, driver assistance and safety features, often reserved for larger models. ‘Phase II’ UVO Connect telematics give owners an enhanced user experience, onboard and via Kia’s UVO smartphone app. Detailed information is available, including live traffic information, points of interest, fuel prices, weather forecasts and the price, location and availability of parking spaces.

The new Picanto is among the safest cars in its class too, now with extra driver assistance technology. Seven airbags and ISOFIX child-seat points are standard across the range.

From the ‘2’ trim level, these safety systems all come as standard:

• Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) with vehicle and pedestrian detection • Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) • Torque Vectoring by Braking • Cornering Brake Control (CBC) • Straight-line Stability (SLS)

Other systems available include blind-spot collision avoidance assist, lane-keeping assist, a driver attention warning system and lane following assist.

Lane following assist is an innovative system that uses a front-facing camera and sensors to monitor road markings. The car can automatically control the steering and throttle on the move to ensure it stays centrally placed in the lane. Drivers can also benefit from the Emergency Stop Signal system. If the driver has to brake suddenly, the hazard warning lights automatically flash to alert the car behind.

The 13-model Picanto line-up starts at only £11,450. And like every new Kia, the new Picanto comes with the unique Kia 7-Year, 100,000-mile warranty as standard. The new Kia Picanto is on sale now at your local Brayley Kia dealer.
