Honda has really gone for it at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed with a 40-metre high version of the Fisher Price toy garage reimagined from some 40 years ago. And, of course, Honda has stuffed it full of its best and most exciting new cars available right now, as well as the McLaren Formula One car and the Civic Sport, not to mention the motorbikes: the Africa Twin, the Fireblade Isle of Man TT Special and the RC213V-S.
The entire Honda Civic range was present at Goodwood, the stunning Civic Hatchback, the feisty Civic Tourer and the revving, roaring Civic Type R. Jazz was there too, showing off its technology and charm, and proud of its Best in Class Euro NCAP safety rating. For all the practical adventurers out there, Honda’s small SUV, the HR-V and the larger, more luxurious CR-V were taking a lot of attention too. Never last and certainly not least, there was a full-throttle first from Honda as the new NSX wowed audiences on the legendary hillclimb with the performance from its 3.5 litre DOHC V6 engine assisted by three electric motors. Its 537hp, 191mph top speed, fully adjustable driving experience and sub three-second time to go from a standstill to 62mph were surely one of the highlights of the whole of Goodwood this year.
