X-Trail ProPILOT Launch
Good news for technology fans - Nissan have now introduced ProPILOT on X-Trail, further expanding the technology at the heart of Nissan Intelligent Mobility.
It is now available as an option on 1.7 CVT 2/4WD Tekna variants for £795. Drive Assist Pack is also available on the equivalent manual versions priced at £495.
ProPILOT on X-Trail Special Version
Based on the N-Connecta grade, the upcoming N-TEC special version will include ProPILOT/Drive Assist Pack as standard, with a focus on tech and design. The X-Trail N-TEC are expected to arrive and be available from January 2020.
What is ProPILOT?
ProPILOT is an advanced driving assistance system. It supports the driver with acceleration, braking and steering during single-lane motorway driving. ProPILOT is a combination of three functions and is only available on automatic transmissions.
1. Intelligent Cruise Control – Helps the driver to maintain a consistent speed and comfortable distance to the vehicle ahead.
2. Intelligent Lane Keep Assist – Provides steering assistance to help you remain centred in your lane.
3. Low speed situations and Traffic Jam Pilot – If the traffic slows down, ProPILOT can slow your car, bring you to a stop and then resume driving.
What is lane departure warning and intelligent lane intervention?
If the driver departs from the lane without turn signals, the lane departure warning icon flashes and the appropriate lane marker icon turns yellow. This then applies gentle brake pressure to keep the vehicle in the lane. ProPILOT and Intelligent Lane Intervention both work in parallel to each other.
