The All-Electric Nissan Micra: A Bold New Chapter

Nissan New EV MICRA
Nissan has unveiled the all-new, all-electric Micra, a daring supermini that marks a significant return for this historic nameplate.

Designed at Nissan Design Europe in London, the new Micra is built on the AmpR Small platform, shared with the Renault R5, reflecting the strong alliance between Nissan and Renault.

The new Micra is available with two battery options, 40kWh and 52kWh, targeting a range of just under 250 miles (400 km) for the larger battery. This electric vehicle retains the boxy silhouette reminiscent of the Renault 5 but incorporates Nissan's unique design heritage, promising a blend of audacious style and simplicity.

Production of the new Micra will take place at the Ampere ElectriCity plant in Douai, France, with sales expected to begin before the end of the year. This launch is part of Nissan's broader strategy to revitalise its global model lineup, which includes the introduction of next-generation hybrid powertrains, refreshed combustion engine models, and new electric vehicles.

Nissan's commitment to innovation and sustainability is evident in the new Micra, which aims to bring character and excitement back to the small car segment while advancing the electric vehicle revolution.
