Armed Forces Covenant & West Way
West Way currently have Bronze status in the armed forces covenant’s defence employer recognition scheme. This makes us an armed forces-friendly organisation and shows that we do everything we can to help anyone who is in, or related to someone in, the armed forces.
We seek to support the employment of veterans both young and old. We work closely with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) to create a pathway for service leavers to join our West Way Family in the best way possible. This is shown all the way through the company from our Managing Director, Tony Lewis, to some of our technicians and sales team members.
We also work closely with 353. 353 is a charitable trust founded by Tony Lewis and was set up to help members of the military community by delivering long-term support to charities, soldiers and their families. We also are proudly in partnership with The Red Devils and H-Hour. Both do their part to help people in the armed forces and veterans. However, we don’t just focus on those who have been a part of the armed forces. We strive to support spouses and partners of these people too. This helps the families of the armed forces to give them secure jobs and involving them in our family.
We also support cadets’ groups both in our local community and also in local schools. This helps to support the next generation of children and give them the best experiences possible.
Staff benefits and discounts are also offered to military and ex-military personnel, and to their family.
We are working towards our silver award and then going on to our gold award employer status in the future.
