An ultra-efficient scooter

Ever since its successful 2012 launch, the Vision 110 has come on in leaps and bounds, which is no surprise since Honda never rests on its laurels. Indeed, this particular scooter has undergone a number of revisions – all of which have made it the ultra-efficient vehicle it is today. A new four-stroke, OHC, single-cylinder 109cc delivers 8.6 bhp and 9Nm of torque. While these figures might not seem spectacular, they offer a five percent uptick in efficiency. Now, the bike returns as much as 147mpg, while a 4.9-litre tank full of fuel enables a maximum 162-mile range. Furthermore, the inclusion of the Idling Stop System (ISS) ensures further, incremental savings. ISS is an automated technology that switches off the engine whenever the Vision comes to a temporary stop – at traffic lights, for example. As soon as it’s time to continue your journey, this no-fuss system turns the engine back on.
