The Honda Fireblade 30th Anniversary honours the game-changing 1992 model while simultaneously innovating this long-running sports bike series. This newest iteration builds upon the multiple successes enjoyed by earlier models, which enjoyed wins at the TT Races, the FIM World Championship and the Superbike World Championship.

Upon first glance, you could be forgiven for thinking the Fireblade 30th Anniversary is the just the same as its 1992 forbear, which is partly the point. After all, why mess with a winning formula? Look more closely, however, and you’ll soon notice the subtle differences.

On your marks…

The 30th Anniversary Fireblade springs into action the moment ignition is activated, which occurs courtesy of the bike’s electric starter. Accordingly, the digital instrument display in front of you sees the needle move swiftly from left to right as you gather speed and momentum. All the while, the Fireblade’s water-cooled, four-stroke, four-cylinder 999.9cc engine produces 314.6 bhp of power and a peak 113Nm of torque (speaking of which, the bike offers nine selectable torque modes). Despite its superbike prowess, this latest CBR1000R iteration produces CO2 emissions as low as 148g/km.

Retro-modern design

While A CBR1000R bike doesn’t require fancy colours to indicate its power and pace, an exciting livery is all part of the superbike thrill. Accordingly, the Fireblade 30th Anniversary bears stylised graphics that mirror those of the original.
