The Honda CMX1100 Rebel is a stylish cruiser with down-and-dirty appeal. While it sits nice and low, it offers plenty of ground clearance, enabling it to handle every twist and turn in the road with ease.
This bareboned beauty harkens back to an earlier era, combining the style of classic bobbers of the 1960s and the sinewy aesthetics of late-1950s/early-1960s Café Racers. Nevertheless, huge technological advancements and Japanese engineering expertise have conspired to bring the formula right up to date – accordingly, Honda has crafted a retro motorcycle for the modern era.
The Rebel lives up to its name, projecting a maverick charm that appeals greatly to riders who want something different from their cruising experiences. This is a motorcycle that you can make your own too – as the Custom tag implies, it’s ready to be adapted to your particular riding sensibilities.

Rebel soul
If you’re looking for an all-singing, all-dancing bike, we respectfully suggest you look elsewhere (our Super Sport range, for example). No, the CMX1100 Rebel is designed for those riders who like to keep a low profile, hence its all-black look, which is nonetheless extremely captivating. Stripped down to its bare essentials, this is a motorcycle that embodies outsider spirit. Its lightweight yet muscle-bound build is designed to deliver maximum efficiency and performance – and provide the rider with a supremely comfortable and practical ride. A flangeless fuel tank and die-cast aluminium mudguards are just two examples of fixtures that catch the eye – but not in a showy manner. It’s a bike that invites closer inspection rather than one that immediately attracts the eye, which makes it a two-wheeler with staying power, in more ways than one.

Ride to live, live to ride
The CMX1100 is as good an advertisement for contemporary cruisers as it’s possible to find. There was a time when such bikes fell out of fashion, particularly during the 1980s, but the Rebel and its ilk have generated a major rethink. Partly, this is due to a significant reduction in weight and a substantial increase in torque. Indeed, a 1,084cc engine outputs a maximum 98Nm of torque at 4,750rpm and a peak 85.8bhp at 7,000rpm, enabling a top speed of 110mph. Even so, the bike returns up to 57.6mpg and produces CO2 emissions from 114g/km. The result is a motorcycle that’s an absolute blast to ride and one that looks great – and makes its rider feel on top of the world. This is our opinion, of course, but we stand by it, and the only way to find out for sure is to book your test ride with Brayley Honda today.
