Japanese quality, Italian innovation
The latest CB750 is all about the shock of the new, and by shock, we mean the good kind – the thrill that comes with high-octane street riding. This is why Honda brought in a young, dynamic Rome-based designer to fashion this newest iteration, while Japanese engineers provided their justifiably lauded technical input. The result: a blend of head-turning minimalism and swaggering brio. This is a bike with streetfighter attitude, featuring a fuel tank that takes its inspiration from those of a Hornet’s wings. Meanwhile, the combination of a metallic scarlet frame, anodised front forks and a matte-yellow colour palette is guaranteed to attract admiring and envious glances in equal measure.

This Hornet has plenty of sting
A liquid-cooled, OHC four-stroke, eight-valve 755cc engine delivers a barnstorming 90.5bhp at 9,500rpm and a maximum 74.4Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. Electric ignition gets things rolling in double-quick time while six-speed manual transmission provides you with complete control as you shift through the gears. The Hornet is fitted with Honda Selectable Torque Control and Wheelie Control, allowing you to effortlessly manage rear-wheel traction and front-wheel lift. The bike is capable of a 127mph top speed so it’s appropriate that a 270-degree crank should offer a pleasing exhaust-note growl. Nevertheless, this CB750 iteration is designed with consideration for the environment, which is why it produces CO2 emissions as low as 100g/km.
