250-mile range for Renault ZOE

Renault ZOE: now able to travel up to 250 miles on a single charge

The Renault ZOE now has the longest range of any mainstream electric vehicle. Fitted with the new Z.E. 40 battery, available in the UK from November 2016, Europe’s best-selling electric vehicle now delivers a record NEDC driving range of 250 miles. That’s twice the distance attainable by the ZOE at its original launch, and the equivalent of 186 miles of real-world driving, according to Renault estimates.

The standard 22kWh battery (with an NEDC range of 149 miles and real-world range of 106 miles) and the new 41kWh Z.E. 40 battery will be sold alongside one another. However, the 41kWh battery brings few compromises over the 22kWh version, being barely any bigger or heavier and requiring about the same amount of time to charge. An average of just 30 minutes is needed at a public charge point to achieve enough charge for an extra 50 miles of driving range.

There are new services for ZOE owners now too. Z.E. Trip helps drivers to locate charging points, making it easier to find the most convenient and suitable ones on journeys, while Z.E. Pass gives easier access to a large number of charging stations owned by different operators. Also, in the first half of 2017, journeys in the ZOE will be made even easier, thanks to door-to-door navigation, and you’ll also be able to check vehicle information and even operate some of the car’s functions from your phone.
