New Renault Clio R.S. 16 Concept

Packing a Renault Sport punch into the Clio

For its fortieth year celebration, Renault Sport has created the new Renault Clio R.S. 16 Concept and packed it with Renault’s most powerful engine, taken from the Mégane R.S. 275 Trophy-R, the 275hp two-litre turbo engine, capable of developing 360Nm of torque.

The new Renault Clio R.S. 16 Concept was unveiled at Monaco at the end of May and is Renault’s highest performance and most powerful road car ever. This year also celebrates Renault’s return to Formula 1 as a constructor and this is reflected in the Liquid Yellow exterior colour with gloss black highlights, taken straight from the R.S. 16 F1 single-seaters of the Renault Sport Formula One Team. It also boasts 19” wheels and newly designed bodywork stretching the width another 60mm, making the Renault Clio R.S. 16 Concept look aggressive and ready for action. With a specially designed suspension system, improved cooling, LED R.S. VISION lighting and an Akrapovič twin-exhaust silencer for the perfect sound, the new Renault Clio R.S. 16 Concept is a beautiful sight to behold and, as Renault Development Driver, David Praschl, says: “You really can have lots of fun behind the wheel!” Maybe, it will go into production…
