Arkana is Renault’s new, mid-sized compact SUV. With a strong, sleek, coupé silhouette, thanks to the sloping roofline, Arkana also lets you enjoy all the space, practicality, ground clearance and rugged looks of an SUV. Subtle use of chrome elements adds to the premium appearance. At the back, Renault’s C-shaped lighting signature includes a strip running the width of the tailgate. Full LED headlights at the front enhance the design and make night driving a breeze. You can choose from six colours: Glacier White, Pearl White, Zanzibar Blue, Flame Red, Metallic Black and Metallic Grey.
The spacious and refined interior features a premium finish, along with generous levels of luggage space and storage. The rear seats fold flat, giving you up to 513 litres of boot space. Cabin storage space includes enough room for 1.5-litre bottles in the door pockets. The ergonomic dashboard benefits from a soft-feel finish and there’s a leather finish to the gear lever. Higher trim levels offer a leather-trimmed steering wheel, additional chrome elements and a soft-foam finish to the upper part of the doors.
Renault Arkana E-Tech Hybrid
Available with Renault’s latest E-Tech hybrid 145 powertrain, the Arkana combines a 1.6-litre petrol engine with two electric motors and a 1.2 kWh lithium-ion battery to produce a total power output of 145hp. Torque is impressive – 148Nm from the petrol engine and 250Nm from the electric motors.
Packed with Renault F1 expertise, the Arkana hybrid includes over 150 unique patents for its technology. The advantages of these advanced hybrid technologies are that the car only produces from 111g/km of CO2 and can give you up to 57.6mpg. With this hybrid SUV, you could make up to 80% of your urban journeys in electric mode alone, produce less CO2 emissions and consume up to 40% less fuel compared to an equivalent petrol engine.
The Arkana features a unique combination of electric motors and dogbox transmission, using the smart multi-mode clutchless gearbox. This results in smoother gear shifts and improved efficiency. The Arkana can start in all-electric mode, meaning instant acceleration is available from a standstill. There’s also a special e-shifter for the gear selector on the E-Tech hybrid version.
The Multi Sense settings allow you to choose between My Sense, Eco and Sport settings for daily driving, extra economy or a sportier drive. You can control these settings from the touchscreen or via the row of soft keys on the dashboard. Here, you can also choose one of eight options to customise the interior lighting to your mood.
The Arkana E-Tech will be available alongside a micro-hybrid version that makes use of a 1.3-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged TCe 140 petrol engine, paired with a 12-volt starter generator. The micro-hybrid comes with a seven-speed dual-clutch EDC transmission.
The Arkana micro-hybrid offers 140hp and 260Nm of torque. Excellence performance brings you 0-62mph in 9.8 seconds. Excellent efficiency means up to 48.7mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 131g/km.
Choose the micro-hybrid version and you’ll enjoy reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, along with a smooth and refined drive.
The Driver Information Display is available in screen sizes of 4.2 or 7 inches, and the Easy Link touchscreen in either a 7-inch horizontal or 9.3-inch portrait configuration, depending on trim level. Renault Easy Connect uses the Easy Link multimedia system and MY Renault app to offer services from Google and TomTom, as well as reliable 4G connectivity, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. These services include real-time traffic information, vehicle location and remote door control.
