NISSAN is awaiting the result of the International Commercial Vehicle Awards’ International Pick-Up Award and International Van of the Year titles, having been shortlisted in both prestigious categories.
The Nissan Navara will be competing with the likes of the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux and Renault Alaskan to fight for its second victory in the pick-up category, following its previous win in 2016. This year, Nissan’s focus has been on creating the most connected Navara yet, offering innovative Nissan Connected Services on board, including access to the advanced NissanConnect infotainment system.
Alongside its newly enhanced connectivity, the Navara exhibited its industry-leading pan-European 5 year / 160,000km warranty and engine efficiency, all leading to the model clinching its position in the finals.
Meanwhile in the Van of the Year category, Nissan’s large van NV400 has been shortlisted alongside the Fiat Ducato, Iveco Daily and Volkswagen Transporter T6.1. The NV400 is Nissan’s Large-Sized Van which offers a versatile and wide choice of body types with efficient engines offering more performance and lower fuel consumption, industry-leading safety equipment and greater comfort thanks to a totally redesigned cabin.

The finalists will be judged by veteran automotive journalists, who will assess the contenders over a three-day group test hosted in Sweden. The assessment will analyse towing capability, terrain handling and value for money among other features that showcase the segment.
Paolo D’Ettore, Light Commercial Vehicles Director for Nissan Europe, said: “We’re so proud to have made it this far in these respected awards that celebrate the innovation of the Nissan Navara and the versatility of the NV400 models.
“To be in the final for such prestigious international awards is an acclaim in itself and we can’t wait to see how they perform.”
The award results will be announced at the Solutrans 2019 Gala Dinner on November 20 in Lyon.
