AN ABANDONED newborn lamb has been given a new lease of life thanks to the all-electric Nissan LEAF and a heated car seat.

The woolly youngster was found by keen rock-climber and all-round outdoor enthusiast Glyn Hudson and his partner, Amy Underwood Thompson, as they were fell running in north Wales around the Llŷn Peninsula.

Seeing the animal had lost its mother and was wet and cold, Glyn had the brainwave to keep it warm by placing it on the LEAF’s heated car seat as they returned home.

They contacted a nearby farmer, who was more than happy to see it re-homed at a local farm later that day.

Glyn, who bought a Nissan LEAF in December following great reviews from his business co-founder at OpenEnergyMonitor.org, said: “I take a great interest in monitoring and reducing energy consumption, and the LEAF allows us to live and work in rural Snowdonia while keeping our carbon footprint to the minimum.

“Better still, the heated car seat was perfect at keeping the newborn lamb nice and warm — it was a little bit sad to say goodbye but I’m glad we helped.”

The multi-award winning Nissan LEAF, also the UK’s best-selling 100% electric vehicle, costs an average of just 2p per mile to run, ensuring that Glyn can enjoy his outdoor pursuits while keeping motoring costs to a minimum.
