Double victory for the all-new Nissan Qashqai
The third generation of the Nissan Qashqai, which was designed in London, Engineered in Cranfield and built in Sunderland, keeps many of the signature features of it's predecessors, such as the elegant design, intellegent packaging and engaging driving experience. However, the newer model has some exciting new features such as an electrified powertrain, class-leading technologies and advanced connectivity, meaning it has once again redefined the crossover segment!
The Sun Motors Editor Rob Gill said: “Put simply, there is no better family car. It just fits your life. The all-new Qashqai is the perfect recipe: Practical, sensibly-priced, stylish, hybrid and the posh new cabin is packed with all the technology and luxuries we love.
“The cherry on top is that Qashqai is designed, engineered and built in Britain. The original crossover and still the best. Well done, Nissan.”
Now in its fourth year, the Motor Awards 2021 brings together the collective expertise of News UK’s motoring journalists Rob Gill, Motors Editor at The Sun, Nick Rufford, Assistant Editor at The Sunday Times, Will Dron, Editor at Driving.co.uk and David Green, Motoring Editor at Luxx magazine, to judge the latest automotive arrivals across a number of categories.
Andrew Humberstone, Managing Director, Nissan Motor GB, commented: “We are incredibly proud to see the All-New Nissan Qashqai officially recognised in the 2021 Motors Awards, both as the best crossover and The Sun’s overall Car of the Year. This is a substantial vote of confidence from some of the UK’s most popular newspapers and their expert motoring correspondents.
The Qashqai is a tribute to the Nissan teams who designed, engineered and are currently making this car right here in the UK. I’m also delighted that just a few months since launch, the All-New Qashqai closed the important September month by reclaiming its title as the UK’s best-selling SUV.”
