West Way Continues Support For The Military
Here at West Way we are proud to support the H-Hour, a podcast dedicated to supporting military veterans, serving or ex-services and civilians or organisations who themselves support veterans. H-Hour do this by providing information to their audiences through recorded discussions with notable guests, each discussion is recorded as a ‘show’.
What do the shows include?
Each show features a guest of interest and with a connection to the military. Subjects range from business people with their own companies, entrepreneurs, veterans involved in famous battles and employees in unusual jobs. Other guests who are experts in their own field discuss medical, financial and legal matters. Running time is approximately 90 minutes plus. There is no formal structure to the discussion, no editing, no pre planned format and guests are encouraged to guide the topic of conversation themselves as the natural flow of conversation progresses – this format is proving extremely popular and very easy listening.
Where can I listen to/watch each show?
Shows are disseminated to viewers and listeners via podcast: audio and video recordings that are published on YouTube, iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, Stitcher, TuneIn Radio and dozens of other social media, video and podcast applications. The podcasts are also available directly via their website.
Who is the host?
A former Sniper in the Parachute Regiment, serving from 2000 to 2011, Hugh Keir conducted frontline operations in Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan. Since leaving the military, Hugh has worked as a Close Protection Officer in the Middle East and in the UK and is now a Facilities Manager, producing the podcast in his spare time.
West Way’s connection to the military
West Way’s Managing Director, Tony Lewis, an ex army officer himself features on one of the podcasts speaking about various topics including the charitable trust he founded, 353. 353 is a charitable trust set up in the memory of Conrad Lewis of the Parachute Regiment who was the 353rd soldier to die in the Afghanistan war. The trust aims to help members of the military community by delivering long-term support to a variety of charities, soldiers and their families.
West Way currently has a number of ex military members of the team ranging from the Managing Director to our technicians and sales teams. We welcome ex members of the armed forces so please contact us for career opportunities or view our latest vacancies.
