NISSAN employees have travelled the length and breadth of the country to learn about the all-new Nissan LEAF and eNV200 at the Millbrook Proving Ground. Around 1,300 Sales Executives, Fleet Specialists, Motability Specialists and some Sales Managers and Service Managers took part in the Intelligent Mobility Dealer Training sessions over the course of a week, with workshops, presentations and drive sessions. The workshops focused firstly on the products, before moving on to Intelligent Power and Intelligent Driving and ProPILOT — which included virtual reality exercises. The training session included taking the new LEAF out on local roads against competitor brands, testing the e-Pedal on hills and ProPILOT in car parks. They also testing ProPILOT at high speed on the Millbrook bowl test track. With ProPILOT, drivers can select their speed, just like cruise control, and then allow the car to take control. It works on single-lane highways, handling braking and steering, and maintains a safe distance from any vehicles ahead. ProPILOT Park makes parking — either parallel or parking in a bay — a breeze by recognising the lines of a parking bay and navigating itself into the space, all at the touch of a button The event was managed by the NMGB Nissan Academy Team, led by James Deacon, Jenni Todd and Aba Eshun and was in collaboration with AMCI, NMGB’s product training agency. Carl Bayliss, Nissan’s EV Category Manager, opened the welcome plenary sessions. The training sessions were a big success, with 99% of delegates stating that the quality of the event was Very Good or Good. The all-new Nissan LEAF, priced from £21,900 (including a £4,500 government incentive), also comes with the unique and innovative e-Pedal, which allows drivers to opt to use just one pedal for acceleration and braking.
