The 100% Electric Nissan e-NV200; Constantly Getting Praise Where Ever It Goes!

Winner of the 2015 What Van? Magazines Green Award and the Trade Van Driver Award for Best Alternative Fuel Van; The Nissan e-NV200, a critically acclaimed van that can cater for all of your business needs. Managing Director, Peter Donker Curtius of Danor Engineering has nothing but admiration for the Nissan e-NV200. Peter recently collected his 100% electric e-NV200 Van from our business centre in Mill Hill.  Here’s what he has to say about the vehicle:

“It all started one morning back in November last year when I saw a Nissan Leaf glide by, effortless and silent. It must have made an impression because I mentioned it that evening to my wife who in turn, without my knowledge, booked a test drive with another Nissan dealer. We were both happily surprised and impressed by the car’s capabilities which, bearing in mind our daily car is a 3L V6 Audi Quattro is a compliment indeed. I also noticed that Nissan also made an electric van so made a mental note to investigate that further! A quick search online took me to West Way in Mill Hill where I was put in touch with Ian Cuddy,Business Centre Manager. West Way offered us the loan of a brand new e-NV200 for appraisal. We took delivery of our new van at the beginning of February, complete with a personal registration plate. My company, Danor Engineering specialises in supplying and maintaining steam pressing equipment for the clothing industry. Our mobile engineers carry a large amount of tools and spares parts and our customers include tailors, hotel valets, department stores, military barracks, fashion colleges and designers. Many of our customers are based within the M25 and a great proportion of our customer base are inside the Congestion Charge Zone of Central London. Going all-electric has a number of obvious advantages for us, not paying congestion charge is definitely one of them! Other clear advantages are low running costs (both on fuel and service) free road fund licence and as a company we hope to project an image of environmental awareness and willingness to embrace new technology. As for driving an electric vehicle, it is truly a whole new experience. I truly cannot fault it and can’t help but feeling a little smug when quietly gliding through London. I also find myself getting annoyed at other drivers whose vehicles belch smoke and are unnecessarily noisy… maybe it's just an age thing but I really believe this is the way forward. If I had to come up with a single negative regarding electric vehicles it would have to be range (let’s forget the Tesla for a minute) but I am convinced that battery technology will keep on improving and soon affordable electric cars and vans will comfortably top the 200+ range.
