The Renault ZOE has won What Car?’s ‘Best Electric Car’ for a fourth time
For the fourth consecutive year, What Car? judges have voted the Renault ZOE the best electric car of the year. As well as picking up the award of ‘Best Electric Car’ 2017, the Renault ZOE was named ‘Best Electric Car for less than £20,000’ in Q90 Z.E.40 Dynamique Nav form, and was a finalist in the Technology Award thanks to its new Z.E.40 battery. With almost double the previous storage capacity, the new ZOE delivers a 250-mile range (NEDC) whilst still retaining fast charging times and great value for money. Commenting on the award, What Car? Editor Steve Huntingford said: “Given the rate of progress in this class during the past 12 months, this win shows just how much this recent update has improved the ZOE… And Renault has kept everything that was already great about the ZOE: its practicality, tidy handling and standard kit.” In What Car’s favoured Dynamique Nav trim, specification includes 16-inch alloys, automatic lights and wipers and a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Bluetooth, sat-nav and DAB tuner.
“Plus, while range is up dramatically, price isn’t,” added Steve Huntingford. “To include many of the latest comfort and infotainment features as well as fast charging at this price makes the ZOE a truly brilliant all-rounder.” With the £64,000 Tesla Model S the only other electric car for sale in the UK that’s able to travel up to 250 miles between charges, it’s clear to see that the Renault ZOE really does represent incredible value for money.
