We are excited to announce that Nissan has received two awards at the Car of the Year Awards hosted by WhatCar.com. The first award went to the Qashqai for Best Small SUV, and the second to the Pulsar for Best Family Car Under £16,000. When picking a winner in the small SUV category, WhatCar look for a spacious model that can cope comfortably with motorway driving, as well as A and B roads and urban city-runs. The car must also offer low running costs at an affordable price. Jim Holder, a Qashqai fan and Editor of WhatCar.com said “Last year’s overall Car of the Year is still our favourite small SUV thanks to its stunning all-round ability. It’s great to drive, classy inside and good value – particularly if you’re a company car driver.” To enter the category for the best family car however, all models had to offer a practical amount of space for adults, children, pets and luggage. The winning model should perform well on both motorways and city streets, offering a good balance between a smooth drive, strong engine ability and sharp controls. Commenting on the Pulsar’s Best Family Car Under £16,000 award, Deputy Reviews Editor Vicky Houseman said, “The Pulsar One of the roomiest family cars, with acres of rear legroom and a big boot. Entry-level Visia trim still gets essentials such as air-con and Bluetooth too.” Following a memorable 2014, these two well-deserved award wins are sure to just be the start of another fantastic year for Nissan.
