The Geneva Motor Show is one of the biggest events in the motoring calendar and gives some of the world’s largest motor brands a chance to reveal new cars and concepts on a grand scale. [caption id="attachment_1790" align="aligncenter" width="432"] The Geneva Motor Show 2015[/caption] This year’s show saw the global debut for the brand new Nissan Sway, a car that demonstrates innovation and a new direction for the car manufacturer with its bold and undeniably stylish design. The Sway gives us an insight into the exciting next generation of Nissan cars, showing the world the importance of design to Nissan’s future direction. The model turned heads with its boomerang headlamps and a big glass roof with a build in ‘X structure’, which asymmetrically centres above the front seats. The model is designed to cater to the previously unmet demands for an affordable, practical and comfortable people mover that runs purely on electric motor propulsion. Whilst the layout of the seven-seat car includes two seats in the front, three in the middle and two in the rear, the flexible design allows both the second and the third rows to be folded to offer more space for luggage or cargo. This feature makes the Evalia E-NV200 great for both commercial and private use depending on the driver’s needs. These two new models were joined in the Geneva spotlight by a special edition of the LEAF. The vehicle was designed in celebration of the LEAF’s fourth year as the best selling pure electric car globally and its record sales year in 2014, which saw sales up by 33 per cent. With its eye catching new 17-inch wheel design this special edition has a 6.6 kW on board charger, allowing it to go from empty to full in just four hours using a compatible 32-amp supply. The Geneva Motor Show marks an incredible year for Nissan and showcases the bright future that lays ahead for the brand. Watch this space for more exiting announcement and motoring debuts!
