What is PIP?

*Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is replacing Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for people living with a disability between the ages of 16 and 64, even those with an "indefinite" or "lifetime" award.

If you are awarded the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of PIP, you will be able to lease a car.

How can I find the best car to suit my needs?

We would recommend coming into your nearest West Way dealership where you can meet our Motability expert who will be able to carry out suitability assessments and advise on suitable adaptations, also to test drive the car, so you can pick check the car works for you.

A number of adaptations can be carried out for FREE.

So, how does the scheme work?

Do I own the car when the lease ends?

No, as you are using the Motability scheme the vehicle remains the property of the Motability Operations.

At the end of your lease you have 3 options:

1) Lease another new car through the Motability scheme
2) Expand the lease keeping your current car longer than 3 years
3) Return your car, your allowance will be reinstated to you
