Joining the rest of the Honda line up, the new Honda HR-V and Honda Jazz have both achieved Euro NCAP 5 star safety ratings in the recent test series results, just released by Euro NCAP
This highly significant safety rating by Euro NCAP proves just how safe these new Honda cars and the Honda range as a whole are, because Euro NCAP is wholly independent, being backed by consumer and motoring organisations across Europe, as well as the European Commission and seven European governments.
The new Honda HR-V and Honda Jazz achieved their top 5 star safety ratings under the new 2015 Euro NCAP protocol, which comprises a weighted score, based on several elements of a car’s safety performance. The 5 star rating is made up of 40% for adult occupant protection, 20% for child occupant protection and 20% for pedestrian protection, whilst the remaining 20% is awarded for the availability of safety assistance devices.
The Honda Jazz scored a whopping 93% for its adult occupant safety and 85% for child occupant safety, whilst the HR-V scored 86% and 79% respectively. Both cars have the benefit of Honda’s City-Brake Active system as standard fitment on all cars in the range, whilst mid-range and higher vehicles enjoy the additional protection afforded by Honda’s Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS), which includes: Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition System, Intelligent Speed Limiter and High-beam Support System.
