Honda Civi 9 Speed

New for the Honda Civic: nine-speed automatic gearbox

Increased efficiency and smoother gear changes for your new Civic

Honda has paired its upgraded 1.6 i-DTEC diesel engine with a new, nine-speed gearbox on the Honda Civic, increasing efficiency and improving the refinement of every gear change. The new nine-speed, automatic gearbox marks a big shift for Honda, as it’s the first time the Civic has been available with an automatic transmission. This new, automatic gearbox boasts a really low, first-gear ratio and a high, top-gear ratio, meaning this Honda Civic has an extremely smooth and powerful transition from stationary, as well as benefiting from reductions in fuel consumption and noise at higher speeds. In addition, due to its nine-speed capability, this gearbox delivers exceptionally smooth gear shifts and a sense of linear acceleration, whilst gears can also be skipped, depending on the demands you place on the engine. The new automatic gearbox and 1.6 i-DTEC diesel engine combination is available on both the Civic Saloon with CO2 emissions of only 108g/km and the Civic Hatchback with CO2 emissions of 109g/km. With 120PS of power and 300Nm of torque to play with, this Civic has a 0-62mph time of 11 seconds and a top speed of 124mph.

The upgraded 1.6 i-DTEC diesel engine has evolved to minimise NOx and particulate emissions and has been tested under the strict, new Real Driving Emission (RDE) procedure to certify its efficiency.
