Double Win for Nissan at the Auto Express Awards

Nissan has been a market high-flier for quite some time now and the Judges of the Auto Express Awards in London obviously agreed. Taking not one but two category wins in London has cemented the highly acclaimed manufacturer’s position in the new car market. And the award goes to... The brand new Qashqai 1.5 dCi Acenta Premium was awarded the honour of ‘Best Crossover’ whilst the all new ‘Safety Shield Technology’ took home the title for best in its class for the Safety Award category. The new model also came up trumps for being the most efficient model in the range, producing an impressive combined 74.3mpg and emitting just 99g/km of CO2. The judges were convinced the Qashqai deserved the podium finishes, commenting, “The extras that the car has are unbelievable, including the NissanConnect 7 touchscreen and reversing camera. The drive of the car is so smooth and quiet that sometimes you don’t even think that the engine is on!” In addition to this the judges who visited from Britain’s biggest motoring weekly were overwhelmed by the model’s impressive safety features and its successful attempt in bringing premium safety into the mass car market. The evermore famous Safety Shield Technology incorporates Traffic Sign Recognition, Forward Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Moving Object Detection and High Beam Assist.
