2014 looks like it’s going to be a good year for the Nissan LEAF, with record sales being made in January. The LEAF is becoming more and more popular by the minute as the low running costs and design attract drivers from all over the country. 230 drivers decided to invest in an electric vehicle last month, which is a 1000% increase in the number of sales from January 2013. Despite strong competition from other leading car manufacturers’ electric vehicles, the LEAF remains to be the most popular choice for those of us who are looking to cut out tax and fuel costs and hit the road with an electric vehicle, as 70% of electric cars bought last month were LEAFs. LEAF ACENTA Front 3_4 PACK 2013 - Copy This fantastic news comes after other milestones for Nissan in the electric vehicle department, after the 3000th LEAF being sold in the UK, along with the 100,000th LEAF being sold worldwide. So what is there to love about the LEAF? The LEAF is a family car, with five seats and heaps of space, including a 370 litre boot (perfect for shopping and suitcases!). You can charge your LEAF both at home and out and about, and it hardly takes any time! The Rapid Chargers mean that you can charge your battery up to 80% in half an hour.  If all of that wasn’t enough to tempt you, check out our LEAF reviews here  to see what makes it some of our customers’ favourite car. The LEAF is also the most affordable electric vehicle on the road, with affordable, flexible options available to customers. Our FLEX offer allows you to own the LEAF Visia for £15,990 with 3 years free battery lease. Alternatively, you can own the LEAF Acenta for just £99 per month! To view our LEAF offers, click here. The LEAF’s not the only electric car in the Nissan family either, as it will soon be joined by electric NV200 Taxis which will be gracing the streets on London! Nissan recently announced that the first electric taxi will be taking on the task of transporting tourists and Londoners in 2015, which will be another milestone to add to the Nissan collection!

We’re doing our bit too!

Here at West Way, we want to make sure all our customers can see how electric driving can fit so easily into their lives. That’s why we’re now using LEAFs as our standard courtesy cars, meaning that when you have your car serviced at one of our dealerships, you will be able to try out electric driving whilst your car is in the workshop! If you want to know more about the Nissan LEAF, or if you’d like to have a test drive to know how good electric driving can feel, then speak to an Electric Vehicle specialist at your local West Way dealership today!   Nissan Leaf Infographic
