A leader in the 4x4 marketplace, the new Mitsubishi Shogun is clean and economical, while pushing out 441Nm of torque at 2,000rpm, meaning its 3.2-litre diesel engine can take this SUV virtually anywhere – no sweat. Available in both five-seat, short wheelbase and seven-seat, long wheelbase versions, the new Shogun has genuine off-road capability, it’s built to handle cross-country rallying, so it’s full of the fun factor, whilst being immensely practical with up to 1,790 litres of cargo space (LWB) and it’s comfortable too, thanks to its large seats, commandingly high view, and the soft-touch quality of the materials used throughout the cabin. What’s more, the Shogun may have originally hit the roads in 1982, but now in new Shogun form it’s packed with all the modern technology and safety features you need in your four-wheel drive for personal enjoyment or family adventure. To explore the new Shogun for yourself, just enquire at Brayley Mitsubishi and we would be delighted to arrange your own personal test drive.
Standard throughout the new Shogun range is the INVECS-II automatic transmission, which is paired with a 16-valve, turbocharged, intercooled, 3.2-litre engine. Your new Shogun can handle up to 700mm of water, side inclines of up to 45 degrees and hills of up to 35 degrees. The four-wheel drive offers three modes to give you the option of maximum fuel efficiency or maximum traction in serious off-road conditions. What’s more, the new Mitsubishi Shogun is an ideal car for towing – the long wheelbase version can tow up to 3.5 tonnes.
Inside the new Shogun seats seven, or all the rear seats can be folded to let you carry a mass of luggage. The leather seats are comfortable, tough and easy to keep clean. Every technology you would expect in a modern car is available, such as Bluetooth controlled from the steering wheel, voice recognition, solar control glass, LED footwell lighting, auto-dimming rear view mirror and 860 watts of Rockford Acoustic Design sound system with 12 speakers and a DAB radio. Satellite navigation and a rear-view camera add to the ease of use of this outstanding 4x4 SUV.
The new Mitsubishi Shogun is available in three SWB 3-door versions: SG2, Warrior and Barbarian, as well as three LWB 5-door versions: SG2, SG3, SG4 and SG5. In addition, there are four commercial versions, ideal for any business needing a tough, 4x4 workhorse, but with excellent levels of comfort, safety and technology – these Shoguns can take a payload of up to 655kg.
