The Mazda MX-5 RF features retractable hardtop with advanced technology which can be opened while driving (up to 6mph). The retractable hardtop consists of a front section, middle and rear roof sections, and a glass rear screen. When the top is lowered, the front and middle portions are stowed away, and the rear glass sits behind the seats, leaving the rear roof section in place for a unique Targa-top look. The retraction of the roof is roof a beautifully graceful motion to behold.

Polished performance

Mazda’s award-winning SKYACTIV engine architecture and engines assure maximum driving pleasure for which the MX-5 is so revered. Suspension and electric power steering settings have been tuned for the perfect ride and handling balance featuring a limited-slip differential, Bilstein dampers and a strut brace depending on the model.

There’s a choice of two SKYACTIV-G petrol engines, a 132PS 1.5-litre and a 184PS 2.0-litre - both normally aspirated in the pure tradition of sports cars. The 2.0-litre engine offers an improved redline – up to 7,500rpm, as well as an increase in overall torque and peak torque thanks to lightened pistons, crankshaft and flywheel as well as larger intake and exhaust valves. You can opt for a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission.

Colour with soul

Perfectly complementing the KODO: Soul of Motion design is Mazda’s unique TAKUMINURI paint process, giving glossy depth and nuanced shading to the vibrant range of colours. The car is brought to life particularly in Soul Red Crystal, a metallic high-density finish with intense contrasts between light and shadow.

A sound-absorbing headliner in the panels combines with sound insulation around the rear wheel housings to deliver a significantly quieter cabin with the roof in place. A 5mm increase in roof height aside, the RF retains the same overall dimensions as the MX-5 convertible and despite the sleek design, retains the same boot space as the soft-top model.
