Kia MOT

IMPORTANT KIA MOT INFORMATION

Please note: Due to the COVID-19 situation, Brayley Kia is currently closed and we cannot currently schedule MOT appointments. We would ask all our customers to follow current Government advice and stay safely at home.

My Kia MOT is due on or after 30 March 2020

If your Kia’s MOT is due after this date, you currently have no action to take. The Government has extended MOT due dates for cars and vans by 6 months, but you must keep your car safe to drive. If your Road Tax is due, you can tax it as soon as your MOT has been done. Here’s the official Government information

My Kia MOT expires before 30 March 2020

If your Kia’s MOT is due in the next few days, there is helpful MOT information on the Government website here. If you are self-isolating, you’ll need to book an MOT test as soon as the period of confinement is finished. You shouldn’t drive your car without a valid MOT unless you are driving to an MOT appointment. If your Kia MOT runs out before 30 March, we recommend that you contact us.

My first Kia MOT is due

Your vehicle will automatically be given a 6-month MOT exemption from the date its first MOT was due and you currently have no further action to take.

Booking your MOT

All Brayley Kia dealerships are temporarily closed. We’ll be rescheduling MOT appointments and taking MOT bookings as soon as we reopen. Check our website for the latest updates.

WHEN IS MY KIA MOT DUE?

For new Kia cars, you’ll need to get your MOT test done before the third anniversary of its registration. After that, the MOT needs renewing every 12 months. You can get a test done earlier than the due date, but it will be valid for one year from the date of the MOT test. Not sure when your test is due? Contact Brayley Kia today.
