Fully updated on the outside

The Kia tiger-nose grille takes pride of place at the front and features a bright chrome finish. New bumpers, new LED tail lights and fresh designs for the headlights and fog lights, all make the 2018 Kia Optima stand out. In addition to new alloy wheel designs, there’s also an exciting new exterior colour available: Runway Red.

Kia Optima Interior

And even more desirable on the inside

Choose your interior colour scheme from the options of black, two-tone black and grey cloth or leather, or the new brown cloth or leather upholstery. There’s a brand new design for the steering wheel and a new ambient lighting feature for the dashboard and the doors. There are six lighting colours to choose from and you can also allocate a specific colour to go with each of the driving modes – pre-sets mean Eco mode will produce green lighting, whilst switching to Sport mode will produce red ambient lighting. To add to the sophistication of the interior, a satin-chrome trim features on the centre console and extends right across the dashboard.

Lower emissions, lighter weight, fully turbocharged

The new Kia Optima Saloon features the all-new ‘U3’ 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine with an active emissions control system to bring it well within the requirements of the new Euro 6d TEMP emissions standard for CO2, particulates and NOx. In spite of these significant improvements, you’ll enjoy superb performance with 136PS of power and 320Nm of torque available. For the first time, you’ll also be able to choose the 180PS 1.6-litre T-GDi petrol engine with an advanced, seven-speed, double-clutch transmission, allowing you to change gear simply by touching the shift paddles mounted on the steering wheel. In addition, there is a naturally-aspirated 163PS 2.0-litre Continuously-Variable Valve Lift engine and, on the new Optima GT, a 245PS 2.0-litre T-GDi engine available.

With a tweaked chassis offering improved agile handling and a smoother, more comfortable ride, the new Kia Optima puts you in charge with its drive mode selector. The Eco, Comfort, Sport and Smart modes mean you can choose whether to prioritise economy or acceleration, whilst the Smart mode works with you to anticipate your preferences and the current road conditions.

Kia Optima Design

Go sporty – the new Kia Optima GT and GT Line

Stamping their sportier authority on the road, the Kia Optima GT Line has the looks and the Optima GT has the performance. And showing it off, these cars come with 18” aluminium alloys and new LED fog lamps, as well as mirror caps, side sills and the air intake grille, all in a subtle gloss black. At the back, the GT Line shows a pair of newly designed twin exhausts, whilst the GT is styled with chrome twin exhaust tips. Inside, you can choose two-tone black and red leather upholstery or black leather with contrasting red stitching. And the Kia Optima GT comes with that powerful 245PS 2.0-litre engine.

Safer by design, safer by technology

Kia offers the new Optima Saloon with a choice of intelligent active safety systems under its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems banner, meaning the Optima is one of the safest cars in its class. The Driver Attention Warning system monitors both the driver and the car, sounding a warning and activating a display, if it detects that the driver is dangerously tired. Other systems available include Forward Collision-avoidance Assist with pedestrian recognition and Lane Keeping Assist. In addition, the full LED headlamps come with Dynamic Bending Light and High Beam Assist.
