Advantages of a hybrid

Here at your local Brayley Kia, we’re keen to cut down emissions. We’re also keen to protect the environment. This Kia Niro self-charging hybrid enables you to do both. What’s more, you’ll save money at the same time.

How a hybrid works

The Kia Niro self-charging hybrid is powered by a standard petrol engine. This works with a battery-powered electric motor. The Niro can use either of these two motors alone or together to power the car in the most efficient way possible. The braking system recovers energy from the car when it slows down. This recharges the battery on the go, so you never need to charge it.

The 1.6 GDi petrol engine is already one of the most fuel-efficient engines available. The petrol engine combines with the 32kW electric motor, the 1.56kWh lithium-ion polymer battery system and the advanced six-speed DCT gearbox. It’s a combination that lets the Kia Niro hybrid race to the front of energy-efficient motoring. As well as being so efficient, the Niro can generate 140PS. That means there’s lots of fun to be had driving your new Kia Niro.

The Niro look

The Kia Niro hybrid looks great. It combines the practical advantages of an SUV and the comfort of a family car. Look out for the iconic ‘tiger-nose’ grille with its new diamond-look design. The brand new bumpers enhance the confident look of the new Niro, along with the new LED daytime running lights at the front. On some grades, full LED headlights are also incorporated.

But what is the Niro like to drive?

The first impression you’ll get is of serenity, as the electric motor powers the Kia Niro around town in near silence. But select the Sport Mode as you hit the open road and the Niro self-charging hybrid offers a more dynamic driving experience. The impeccable handling is due to the six-speed double clutch transmission and Kia’s chassis and suspension development.

To experience the Niro self-charging hybrid for yourself as soon as possible, pre-book your test drive at your local Brayley Kia dealership in Harpenden, Enfield or Oxford today. Our friendly and knowledgeable teams will be on hand to explain about this new generation of energy-efficient car. We would also be delighted to answer your questions about the technology.
