Have you ever seen a Kia beat a Lamborghini, Porsche or Ferrari?
The Kia EV6 GT is the brand’s latest fully-electric model, joining the Soul EV and eNiro. It’s one of the fastest and most agile electric cars on the planet.
In this brand new video from Kia, you’ll be able to watch the EV6 GT take on the world’s fastest supercars in a thrilling 400 metre drag race.
The EV6 GT is up against some serious competition from some of the fastest supercars on the planet, built by manufacturers that specialise in speed. With the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and McLaren in line up, there’s very few cars the world that could win this straight-line race, let alone an electrified Kia.
The competition includes:
Mercedes-Benz AMG GT
Porsche 911 Targa 4
Ferrari California T
4.0 litre Twin-Turbo V8
4.0 litre Twin-Turbo V8
3.8 litre Twin-Turbo V8
3.4 litre Turbocharged Flat-Six
3.7 litre Twin-Turbo V8
0 - 62mph
The Kia EV6 GT
Joining the Kia range later in 2021, the all-new Kia EV6 is a sleek, four-door, battery electric vehicle (or BEV) that will set the scene for all future electric cars to come from Kia. Starting from just £40,895, the EV6 is considerably more affordable than the competition, and even the range-topping EV6 GT model comes in at just £58,295, a fifth of what some of the supercars cost.
Official specs of the Kia EV6 GT will be released later this year but, judging from its performance in this latest video, expect multiple electric motors for incredible power and a large batter to fuel the acceleration as well as the range.
The standard EV6 will be offered with a range of zero emission, fully-electric powertrains including a long range 77.4kWh battery capable of over 316 miles on a single charge and 800V ultra-fast charging.
The Kia EV6 is the first of 11 brand new BEV models set to arrive from Kia by 2026. And, if the EV6 is anything to go by, then we have a lot to look forward to!
