Compact CBR, peak performance It might be the smallest CBR in the Honda range but the CBR500R is nevertheless an absolute blast to ride. It’s powered by an eight-valve, liquid-cooled parallel twin-cylinder engine which produces 47bhp and a maximum torque of 43Nm at 6,5000rpm. This enables a top speed of 116.8mph. Accordingly, the bike emits an appropriately gratifying roar via its exhaust. In common with this CBR’s larger counterparts, Assist and Slipper Clutch technology delivers smooth six-gear transitions while preventing rear-wheel lock-up whenever rapidly switching from top to low gear.
