Honda e:PROGRESS is the new Smart EV Charging system from Honda. Coming online in 2020, e:PROGRESS will allow EV owners to charge their car at the most cost-effective time using a Honda Smart Charger controlled by a smartphone app.
Honda’s Power Charger is a connected domestic unit that can charge a Honda e from zero to 100% capacity from a 32-amp power supply in just over four hours. The Honda Power Charger will accompany first deliveries of the Honda e this summer with the full e:PROGRESS service going live this year.
Energy-efficient charging is enabled thanks to Honda’s smart tariff – the first flexible energy tariff specifically tailored to Electric Vehicle (EV) owners. The service allows charging at the most cost-effective time, relative to grid demand.
Electricity supply is provided by Vattenfall, with a flexible ‘time of use’ tariff offering reduced cost energy at certain times of the day rather than a fixed tariff. In addition, electricity from renewable energy can be optimised, including solar power, wind farms and hydropower.
