AdBlue

If your car is a diesel, it probably needs AdBlue. The latest diesel engines can reduce NOx emissions by some 90%. NOx is the stuff that you really don’t want to be breathing in. AdBlue, sometimes called Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), is a vital component of the exhaust system. It’s a liquid that breaks down more harmful particles into simple and safe water and nitrogen. In doing so, the AdBlue is used up. To minimise emissions and keep your car running properly, your AdBlue usually needs topping up between services. Take a look at the video below for a more detailed look at the role of AdBlue.

Please contact your local Brayleys Cars service department for more information and to book your car in for an AdBlue check or top-up.

Pothole Damage and Your Suspension

Your car’s suspension has been carefully designed and set up to maximise your driving pleasure, safety and comfort. Sadly, the excessive number of potholes that we suffer from in the UK can cause serious damage to your car’s suspension system. Take a look at the video below to see just how sophisticated a suspension system is.

If your car isn’t as comfortable as it was or just doesn’t ‘feel right’, book it in at your local Brayleys Cars. Our skilled technicians will give it a once over to make sure there’s been no suspension damage.

Your Car’s Cambelt – Be Prepared

The cambelt may not seem exciting, but without it, your car would never move. Cambelts wear out over time and need replacing. Your car’s manufacturer will have published a recommended replacement time. This should always be adhered to. We’ll be happy to advise you on when your cambelt needs attention. A cambelt that is not replaced can break causing serious and expensive damage to the engine. Check out the video to see just how important the cambelt is.

To avoid the unnecessary expense of a broken cambelt, please get in touch with our service team to have your cambelt checked.
